Longtime Flyers Team Captain Steps Down

Judi Cestaro

It was in 2001 – Dr. Jonathan Gibralter was FSC president – that Judi Cestaro had the idea of forming a team to compete in the annual Marcum Challenge (then known as the Chase Corporate Challenge) at Jones Beach. The team was dubbed The Flyers, and FSC was off to the races.

Now, nineteen years later – having been team captain all those years – Cestaro is stepping down. She leaves a legacy that will be hard to top.

“The Challenge is an ideal corporate team building event whose main purpose is to foster fitness and camaraderie in the workplace,” Cestaro says. “On that night, whether you are CSEA, professional, faculty, or administration, you are a Flyer, and we truly run as one. It has both strengthened and created new relationships across campus.”
