May 6, 2019
Four FSC CSTEP students recently presented their research projects at the 27th Annual CSTEP Statewide Student Conference. The event is an opportunity for members of the CSTEP community to share in the areas of intellect, talent, and creativity.
Two students – Maria Turbi Henderson ’19 (Bioscience) and Dylan Dominguez ’20 (Bioscience) – won Honorable Mention in their category, Chemistry and Biochemistry. Cristian Franco ’19 (Bioscience) and Juan Garces ’20 (Mechanical Engineering Technology) also presented.
Parisa Saghati, CSTEP counselor, said of the students: “In addition to their rigorous academic course loads and work schedules, these students have always gone above and beyond for the CSTEP program here at Farmingdale State College. They continue to set an example as leaders and mentors to their peers in the campus community.
“The research displayed by our students is a perfect example of how underrepresented students are a crucial part to the progression of STEM-related fields.”
