Play Ball! New Softball Stadium is Open
Spring is here, and it’s time to play ball! The new, state-of-the-art softball stadium at Nold Athletic Complex is being officially opened this week, with a special ribbon cutting to mark the event.
All are welcome to join the ribbon cutting. Following brief remarks by President Nader, Athletics staff and student Kim Basile, the team will take to the field for an infield-outfield practice.
The FieldTurf playing surface, installed by LandTek, features a turf infield and outfield, along with turf bullpens and turf batting cages. The stadium surrounding the field features dugouts, bleachers with seating for 461 people, lights, LED scoreboard, and press box. Dimensions of the field are 200 feet to left and right fields, and 220 in center field.
The new ballpark will allow FSC teams to practice and play at all times, and makes bad weather less of a factor.
