Chancellor’s Award for Excellence Winners on Display in Campus Center
February 25, 2019
It’s a fitting way for FSC to honor those who have already been honored by SUNY. So said President Nader last year, and he turned to the Office for Institutional Advancement, Information Technology, and Physical Plant to bring it to life.
It’s the new Chancellor’s Award for Excellence video display, located across from Pop’s Dining in the Campus Center. In addition to previous winners, the display features the 2018 winners:
- Dr. Jonathan Lehrer, Excellence in Teaching
- Dr. Fran Cherkis, Excellence in Faculty Service
- Professor Orla LoPiccolo, Excellence in Teaching
- Professor David Guarino, Excellence in Adjunct Teaching
- Mary-Beth Liegmann, Excellence in Classified Service
The scrolling display will be updated annually.
The Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence are system-level honors conferred to recognize consistently superior professional achievement and to encourage the ongoing pursuit of excellence. These programs underscore SUNY’s commitment to sustaining intellectual vibrancy, advancing the boundaries of knowledge, providing the highest quality of instruction, and serving the public good. Through these awards, SUNY publicly proclaims its pride in the accomplishment and personal dedication of its instructional faculty, librarians, classified and professional staff across its campuses. The awards provide SUNY-wide recognition in Faculty Service, Classified Service, Librarianship, Professional Service, Scholarship and Creative Activities, Teaching, and Student Excellence.
