FSC Adds Directors of Distance Learning, AAIC

Davinder Kaur, director of distance learning, and Dr. Alexander Caviedes, director of AAIC, are the latest additions to the FSC staff.
Ms. Kaur comes to FSC from Stony Brook University, where she was assistant dean in the Office of E-Learning, and implemented new processes for online programs to ensure quality standards. She has more than 12 years of academic administration experience, in both private and public institutions. She strategically integrates technology with best practices and builds collaborative partnerships with faculty to develop effective online pedagogy.
Ms. Kaur earned a Master of Project Management (MPM) degree from the Keller Graduate School of Management, and is currently enrolled in a doctoral program at the University at Buffalo (SUNY) for a PhD in Curriculum, Instruction and the Science of Learning. Her research interests include developing student-centered programs for the improvement of teaching and learning delivered in online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced modes.
Dr. Caviedes joins Farmingdale from SUNY Fredonia, where he held the position of associate professor of Politics and International Affairs. He also served as Pre-law advisor. In addition, Dr. Caviedes was program coordinator for International Studies, and faculty advisor for students involved with the SUNY Model EU Simulation program, working with the SUNY Institute for European Union Studies, the SUNY Global Center and Europe.
In addition to his background as an attorney, Dr. Caviedes holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin, and a BA in Political Science from University of Florida.
