LI Partners Meets at FSC to Hear from Representative of St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Long Island Partners, a chapter of Partners of the Americas, held its annual meeting here recently to hear from the Honorable Bernadette Ambrose-Black, Vice Consul for Investment and Trade Promotion at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines embassy in Manhattan.
The Vice Consul provided an update on the status of St. Vincent and the Grenadines under its new administration, including construction of a new international airport that accommodate direct flights from New York.
Partners of the Americas brings together volunteers, development professionals, governments, businesses, and higher education institutions to match resources, knowledge and passion to need. By connecting local organizations to broader funding opportunities and
empowering citizens to become agents of change, it develops lasting solutions to the hemisphere’s toughest challenges. It has more than 50 chapters in the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean, and is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
According to Dr. Patricia Hill Williams, chair of FSC’s College Council and former board chair of International Partners of the Americas, Long Island Partners has been meeting at FSC for more than 30 years.
“Long Island Partners and the chapter in St. Vincent and the Grenadines have had more than 250 exchanges since 1984. The focus is on education, culture, agriculture, emergency preparedness, youth and sports, and health.
“Several of our faculty and staff have participated in funded agriculture, health, and education projects in St. Vincent over the years.”
