Three Stand Out at Student Research Day
February 26, 2018
The event was well attended, and justifiably so. There aren’t many chances to see more than 60 students – all benefiting from applied learning activities in and out of the classroom – present their research, scholarship, oral presentations, and creative works during a poster session.
There were winners in three categories:
Best Research Proposal – Justin Slaughter
Title: Giving others a hand
Mentor: Dr. Erwin Cabrera
Best Completed Research Project – Patricia Rouzeau
Title: Aviation Students’ Perceptions of Knowledge, Skill and Self Efficacy and Air Traffic Control Communication Before and After Air Traffic Control Simulation
Mentor: Dr. Meron Lindenfeld
Best Overall – Marissa Shiwbalak
Title: Long Term Sepsis Survivors Show Lasting Deficit in Place Cell Maturation in Mice
Mentors: Dr. Erwin Cabrera and Dr. Patricio Huerta
The event was sponsored by an FSC Students First Campus Grant – awarded to FSC librarian Megan Margino, – and the RAM program.
