Know Adult-Learners? Invite Them to the Adult-Learner College Fair
February 26, 2018
Adults – otherwise known as non-traditional students – are flocking to colleges to complete their degrees or enroll for the first time. If you know someone in those categories, invite him or her to the Adult-Learner College Fair.
Held Wednesday, 3/21, 6-8 p.m., in the Campus Center Ballroom, this community outreach is geared to helping both returning students, and adults considering college for the first time. Workshops will include information and advice on:
- Financial Aid
- Admissions primer for prospective students
- Transfer credits
- Career information
- Online learning
- Veterans’ services
In addition, the Long Island EOC will be on hand for those who need special preparation to achieve their academic goals.
Registration is required at farmingdale.edu/adult-learner. Additional information is available at 631-794-6446.
“Working adults are returning to school in record numbers,” said Judi Cestaro, Farmingdale’s director of Transfer Services. “Some are beginning their college career as an undergraduate, some are returning to complete what they started as an 18-20 year old, and others are seeking further training as the demand for higher-skilled workers rises.
“I meet with so many adults who wish to pursue a degree or complete one, and don’t know where to begin. We’re hosting this college fair just for them.”
Five other SUNY schools will also be presenting at the event.
