What Language Did You Learn at Home? International Mother Language Day

Tuesday, 2/20, 11 a.m. – noon     Roosevelt Hall Little Theatreforeign language icon

Celebrate languages from around the globe, as part of the UN’s annual focus on linguistic diversity.

FSC’s event will focus on the history and significance of mother languages (defined as the language one learns at home), and feature presentations from various ethnic cultures.

Said Dr. Nazrul Islam, coordinator of the event: “Farmingdale State College is a unique campus with a diverse community. Students from different ethnic backgrounds study here in a free and progressive environment. The College also gathers highly qualified faculty and staff from different gender and ethnic backgrounds. FSC respects and commends the different languages and cultures its community represents.”

For more information, email Dr. Islam, or call 631-794-6216. For details, print International Mother Language Day.
