Get the Word Out: Become an FSC “Brand Ambassador”
February 12, 2018
Farmingdale State College.* You know it as SUNY’s hottest
campus and largest college of technology.
What you may not know is that it’s a brand, too.
And it’s a brand that needs to be promoted properly, so the Office for Institutional Advancement – which is responsible for all of FSC’s communications, advertising and marketing efforts – is offering a four-session certificate program for faculty and staff who want the inside scoop on how FSC brands itself. Why is that important to know? Because what you learn will help you get the most out of your promotional efforts.
The Brand Ambassador Program empowers you and your department by providing tools and best practices to help you accomplish your goals while maintaining the integrity of the brand across campus.
You must complete four sessions, in any order and at any time, to earn certification as a Brand Ambassador. The 90-minute sessions, held in Campus Center Meeting Room A, cover the following:
- Marketing
- Branding
- Web & Web Writing
- Social Media
Sessions run Tuesday and Thursday beginning Thursday, 2/22, with two meetings each in February, March and April. Register now for spring sessions. For more information, contact Katy Greene in the Office for Institutional Advancement at Katy Greene or 631-420-2500.
In addition – though it is not required to become a Brand Ambassador – is a Media Prep Training class, which will prepare you for interviews with media who want to learn more about FSC’s programs, Schools, departments, policies, events, faculty and students. Sessions are scheduled on the following Wednesdays: 2/21, 2/28, 3/14, 3/28, and 4/25, from 3 – 4 p.m. Email Peter Crescenti to register for Media Prep Training .
*By the way, did you notice we’re no longer SUNY Farmingdale?
