New FSC Mission Statement Defines College’s Purpose
February 5, 2018
Dictionary.com defines a mission statement as “a formal
summary of the aims and values of a company, organization, or individual.”
Keep that in mind as you read FSC’s new mission statement:
“Dedicated to student success, Farmingdale State College delivers exceptional academic and applied learning outcomes through scholarship, research, and student engagement for Long Island and beyond. FSC’s commitment to student-centered learning and inclusiveness prepares graduates to be exemplary citizens equipped to excel in a competitive, diverse, and technologically dynamic society.”
Bookmarks with the mission statement printed on them will be distributed at Open House and Student Acceptance Day, and are now available at the following locations: Campus Center Information Desk, Conklin Hall, Greenley Library, Laffin Hall, Nexus Center, Campus Center Bookstore, and the office of the dean of the four Schools.
“The 2018 mission statement more succinctly defines our commitment to student success, the methods by which this will be accomplished, and the exemplary citizens Farmingdale will prepare for society,” said President Nader. “Our students will leave FSC having been prepared for a competitive world, with skills acquired not only in the classroom, but the laboratory, studio, clinical setting, workplace, and many internship sites.”
