“The Dale News” Student Newspaper Debuts Online
December 4, 2017
The Dale News – FSC’s new online student newspaper – is up and running, and ready for all to read.
The debut issue features an article about the new Conklin Hall; NFL Fantasy Football news; campus event listings and Rams game scores; and reviews of Stephen King’s “IT” miniseries and Lobo comics.
The editorial staff includes co-founder/editor Christina Italiano, a senior Professional Communications major; Jessica Rubio, co-founder/editor, also a senior Professional Communications major; and assistant editor Tom Dascole, a junior Professional Communications major.
“The Dale News will be the catalyst Farmingdale needs to connect its ever-growing community,” says Dascole. “It has the potential to change our campus from a college to a conversation.”
Noel Holton Brathwaite, assistant professor, Department of English/Humanities, is faculty advisor.
“Farmingdale students now have a way to share information, as well as their talents and interests with their peers,” she says. “As Farmingdale grows, it needs a student-led publication that reflects the dynamic changes taking place all around us. The editorial staff hopes that The Dale News becomes indispensable, a ‘must-read’ for all Farmingdale students, faculty and staff.”
The Dale News – which may also appear in print next semester – is published under the auspices of the Student Newspaper Club.
