Student Financial Services Director Advocates for Excelsior Scholarship

Diane Kazanecki Kempter, Director of Student Financial Services, spoke recently about the state’s Excelsior Scholarship free-tuition program at a college financing seminar sponsored by Newsday.

Still something of a mystery to some parents and students, she provided a comprehensive presentation on the intricacies of the first-of-its-kind program.

Kazanecki Kempter told the audience how fortunate New Yorkers are to have the scholarship available to SUNY and CUNY students. She said the state expects more than 200,000 students to take advantage of Excelsior, which when added to other financial aid programs will allow them to attend college tuition-free.
