Journalist/Commentator Hugh Hamilton Coming to FSC

Thursday, 4/27, 11 a.m. – noon    Lupton Hall Room 101

“From Thomas Jefferson to Donald Trump: Race, Immigration & the Crisis of American Identity” is the title of a lecture to be delivered by media veteran Hugh Hamilton.

Says Hamilton about his talk: “Amid today’s rising tide of racism and xenophobia, it is a peculiar irony that many in the forefront of the new nativism are themselves the descendants of groups that were once similarly reviled.”

Hamilton is a veteran print and broadcast journalist, political commentator, and public-interest advocate with additional professional experience as a legislative and policy analyst. He is a former executive producer and host of the daily news-talk-analysis program Talkback on WBAI Pacifica Radio in New York, and has reported from more than two dozen countries over the past 30 years. Hamilton is currently an independent communications strategist and policy adviser to several community development organizations.

The event is part of the Artists and Lecturers program.
