Two FSC adjunct professors have won SUNY’s coveted Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching.
The winners are Maria Randazzo-Davis, business management adjunct associate professor, and Jennifer Mignano-Brady, English/Humanities adjunct assistant professor.
Randazzo-Davis joined the School of Business at Farmingdale in 1999, specializing in international business and management courses. Her educational background includes a PhD in Business Administration from Northcentral University; an MBA from New York Institute of Technology; and a BS in Management from SUNY Old Westbury.
Randazzo-Davis says of her teaching and learning goals: “My objective is to have students go well beyond an understanding of subject content into the realities of application. Today’s students value an education that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to achieve successful results, measured by their ability to transfer their skills into career opportunities.”
Mignano-Brady joined the School of Arts & Sciences at Farmingdale in 2010, specializing in writing and other subjects. Her educational background includes an MS in Adolescent Education/English from Mercy College, and a BA in Journalism from Iona College.
Mignano-Brady’s teaching philosophy states: “If there is one thing I know for certain, is that our students care when we care. Our students excel when we as educators excel. This has been the greatest driving force in my professional career in academia.”
