Post-Prison Second Chance?

Dr. LaNina Cooke

Tuesday, 4/4, 10:50 a.m. – 12:05 p.m.   Ward Hall Great Room

In the latest edition of the Dr. Eleanor Fapohunda School of Arts & Science Colloquium Series, Dr. LaNina Cooke, acting chair of the criminal justice department, will address the notion of second chances for individuals released from prison. Effective, thoughtful chances (first and second) are beneficial for reasons beyond just safety, including community cohesion, area financial and political power, and budget re-allocation. Dr. Cooke will layout personal and societal “limits” to second chances, current policies that address these concerns, and future efforts.
