Fighting Back: Bullying and Human Rights

Thursday, 3/2, noon – 1 p.m.   Campus Center Ballroom A

Jane Clementi, mother of Tyler Clementi, the 18-year-old Rutgers student who committed suicide after his roomate used a webcam to expose his gay lifestyle, will speak about her son’s story to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to be “Upstanders” in the face of bullying.   Ms. Clementi will focus on these subjects:

  • tips for preventing bullying before it happens
  • building safe and inclusive spaces regardless of differences
  • how social media has changed bullying
  • tips and tools for how to deal with bullying
