New Director of the Health and Wellness Center
January 30, 2017
Kevin Murphy is the new director of the Health and Wellness Center, where he has been Assistant Director for the last 15 months. Kevin takes over from long-time director Audrey Krapf, who retired in December.
“I am excited to continue my career at Farmingdale State College by building upon the strong foundation of quality programs that have been traditionally offered at the Health and Wellness Center,” says Murphy. “I am looking forward to continuing our relationships with other departments on campus, and developing new partnerships that can be of benefit to our students. My staff and I are excited to be part of the growth of the college as a whole, and we will continue to provide innovative and evidence-based health and wellness services to our student body in order to help them attain their educational goals.”
Murphy joined the Center as a registered nurse in July 2013. Before that he was a trauma emergency room nurse at Stony Brook University Hospital. He holds the AA in Nursing from Suffolk County Community College, and a BS in Nursing and an MS in Nursing Leadership and Management from Western Governors University.
Kevin’s family has a long history at FSC; both his mother and brother are alumni.
