“Celebration of Scholarship” a Celebration Indeed
November 14, 2016
Did you attend last week’s Celebration of Scholarship event? If not you missed an impressive display of more than 50 scholarly accomplishments from the past year, spanning the Arts and Sciences, Engineering Technology, Business and Health Sciences.
For those who made the event, it was an opportunity to discover what’s happening outside their disciplines and celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of their colleagues. Additional photos from the celebration are here.
In her welcoming remarks, Acting Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Laura Joseph said: “We hope to make the FSC Celebration of Scholarship an annual event that is complimented with a publication, highlighting the achievements of our entire faculty. We look forward this celebration serving as a launch for what will become a wonderful tradition at Farmingdale State College.“
Added Dr. Michael S. Goodstone, Acting Associate Provost: “Our first Celebration of Scholarship was a great success. It was wonderful to see people from across campus learning about and celebrating each others’ work. I am sure this event initiated a few cross-discipline scholarly achievements that we will be celebrating in future years!”
In addition to the exhibits was guest speaker Dr. Yacov Shamash, Vice President for Economic Development at Stony Brook University.
