FSC’s Republic Raiders Flying Team Nabs First Place – Again!

For the fourth straight year, FSC’s Republic Raiders flying team has won the northeast regional competition sponsored by the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA). The win qualifies the Raiders to compete in the national championship at The Ohio State University next May.
Led by coaches Vinny Belanger, Guido Duran and Cody Rodriguez, team members Vinny Guerriere (team captain), Matt Sclafani, Sam Diaz, Bryan Downs, Chris Lam, Sang Sung and Zach McFadden beat six other collegiate teams at the event held at Schenectady County Airport.
“This is truly an extended Aviation Center team effort and win,” said Dr. Michael Canders, director of the Aviation Center. “We appreciate the strong support from top college leadership. Thanks to all for a great win!”
