Did You Know that Forensic Analysis of Tattoos Helps Solve Crimes?
September 26, 2016
It sounds like something out of “NCIS” or “CSI,” but it happens in real life. It’s the story about how forensic experts analyze tattoos and tattoo inks in helping solve crimes and identifying individuals – both living and dead.
That’s the subject of a Tuesday, Oct. 4 lecture by Dr. Michelle Miranda, associate professor in the Department of Security Systems & Law Enforcement Technology, and a forensics consultant. Her talk will take place from 11 a.m. – noon in Lupton Hall Room T101.
Dr. Miranda is eminently qualified to speak on this, having written the only book about the subject – Forensic Analysis of Tattoos and Tattoo Inks (CRC Press, 2015).
