Cangero joins Farmingdale after 14 seasons as the head coach at St. Joseph’s College, in Patchogue. He led the team to three Skyline Conference titles and two appearances in the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament. Before that, Cangero taught math for 31 years in the Sachem School District, and coached the Sachem North golf team to five league championships, two Suffolk County titles and one Long Island Championship.

He was also winner of the Tracy Ohrman Award, which is given to one male and one female student-athlete that exemplifies strength and perseverance.
