Acting Provost Laura Joseph Honored by Alma Mater

Dr. Laura Joseph, Acting Provost and V.P. for Academic Affairs, has been selected by her alma mater, Old Dominion University, as one of its College of Health Sciences’ 30 Distinguished Alumni.

Says Dr. Shelley Mishoe, dean of the college, “This honor is bestowed upon our esteemed alumni who have made a difference in their profession and deserve our special recognition.”

Dr. Joseph, in addition to her administrative duties, is a professor in FSC’s dental hygiene department, and former department chair. She holds an MS and BS from Old Dominion in dental hygiene. She received her EdD from Columbia University. But of course – it all started here, as she is a proud graduate of FSC.

This is Dr. Joseph’s second award from her alma mater. In 2009 she was given the Alumni Award for Outstanding Educator.
