$4K Grant Will Help Fund LGBTQ Conference

Dr. Angela Jones

Sociology professor Dr. Angela Jones has won a $4,000 grant to help fund the LGBTQ Scholarship and Politics after Marriage Equality Conference at the Center for LGBTQ Studies at the CUNY Graduate Center in October.

According to Dr. Jones, the grant will bring sociologists together to engage in debates about the inclusion of LGBTQ people in broader society, and racial, class, and other forms of diversity within LGBTQ communities. Conference organizers view the post marriage- equality era as a pivotal moment in LGBTQ studies and activism, and believe that sociology must be prominently featured in what promises to be a watershed moment in intellectual and political history.

Congratulations Dr. Jones!
