(L to R Bottom Row) Paul Colletti; IFMA Treasurer Jennifer Hermann-Carballeira; Dr. Kamal Shahrabi, Dean, School of Engineering Technology; Dawn Grzan, Director of Research and Sponsored Program Development
Paul Colletti, a Construction Management Engineering Technology major, and Robert Lorefice ’16, a Facility Management Technology/Industrial Technology graduate, have won scholarships from the L.I. Chapter of IFMA – the International Facility Management Association.
Great essays were the key to winning their $500 prizes. Colletti, a President’s List student who works as a purchasing agent at a construction company in Hauppauge, talked about the challenges he faces as a student, employee, and dad of a one year old. He is, he says, “determined to succeed.”
Lorefice grew up in a family that worked in different areas of the construction industry, and he himself has worked as a plumbing and heating mechanic. Like Colletti, he too holds down a job and is raising a family. The IFMA scholarship is just one of several he has won.
