It’s the Math Educators Hall of Fame for the Late Dr. Jack Winn

The late Dr. Jack Winn, who taught mathematics at FSC for more than three decades and was long-time chair of the department, has been elected to the Hall of Fame of the Long Island Mathematics Educators. Members of the Hall are recognized for their extraordinary contributions to mathematics education.
Dr. Winn, who earned the rank of Distinguished Teaching Professor, was a visionary in mathematics education. His work in the revitalization of undergraduate curricula and the application of mathematical sciences throughout the curriculum earned him national recognition. Among his awards and honors were a SUNY Research and Scholarship Award and numerous grants from the National Science Foundation. He served on the Board of Governors of the Mathematical Association of America and was chair of the Metropolitan New York Section of the Association.
Dr. Winn retired from Farmingdale in 2011. He passed away in April of this year.
