Chancellor’s Awards to Ten Faculty, Staff

Ten professors and staff members have been honored by SUNY with its Chancellor’s Award for Excellence. The Chancellor’s Award is conferred to acknowledge and provide recognition for consistently superior professional achievement and to encourage the ongoing pursuit of excellence.
Almost 140 staff and faculty have received the Chancellor’s award for Excellence since the first FSC awards were made in 1973.
Through these awards, SUNY publicly proclaims its pride in the accomplishment and personal dedication of its instructional faculty, librarians and professional staff across its campuses.
- Dr. Kathleen Walsh, Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching
- Professor George Fernandez, Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching
- Dr. Robert A. Saunders, Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities
- Dr. Matilde M. Fava, Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service
- Daniel T. Arcieri, Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service
- Carol McNamara, Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service
- Theresa Zahor, Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Librarianship
- Vanda Bordies, Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Classified Service
Recipients will be honored at the fall Convocation on August 25.
Earlier this year, Professors Joseph Rossi and Amanda Lavery won the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching.
