Friends of the Sustainable Garden
We are excited to be moving forward on the implementation of the design for The Sustainable Garden at Farmingdale State College Teaching Gardens. The Sustainable Garden is the newest component of our legendary Teaching Gardens. The Sustainable Garden uses horticultural principles that promote environmental stewardship through the development of a landscape that demonstrates resource conservation, recycling principles and product development. It is our goal to build The Sustainable Garden over the next three years, but we are not able to do this without your help. That is why we are reaching out to you and asking that you become a member of the Friends of the Sustainable Garden.
Your membership makes a difference. As a member you will become a steward of sustainable practices and fund workshops and lectures as well as garden events open to the community.
There are several levels of membership available, in an effort to accommodate all those who seek to assist in our journey, to build this new aspect of the Teaching Gardens. If you would like to become a member, or gift this membership, please complete the attached card and return with your credit card information or check payable to the “Sustainable Garden Initiative.”
Thank you for your support,
Professor Michael Veracka, Chair Department of Ornamental Horticulture
