Winter Weather Coming Soon. Be In the Know

There may be days this winter when President Nader must cancel or delay classes and/or activities.

The best way to find out about delayed or cancelled classes is the FSC website, farmingdale.edu. In addition, a campus-wide email about the status of classes is sent to all students, faculty, and staff, and announced on the College’s social media outlets, such as Facebook and Twitter.

The College has also partnered with RAVE, an emergency notification system that delivers text and email messages. Students, faculty, and staff may sign up by going to www.getrave.com, and entering Farmingdale State College.  Use your Farmingdale user ID and password to sign in. Edit the information that appears for your account, and include your cell phone number if you want to receive text notifications. If you do not enter your cell phone number, you will receive RAVE notifications by email only. The College also notifies News 12 about delays or cancellation of classes.

There are no weather announcements when classes are in session. Announcements are made only for delays or cancellations. Check the FSC website and other communications outlets for updates, since unpredictable weather may dictate ongoing changes in the campus response. Only the governor can close the campus.

When classes are cancelled or delayed, and College offices are open, non-teaching employees are expected to report for work or charge their time-off in accordance with policy.
