FSC Alumni Among Top SUNY Wage Earners

It’s good news for FSC students working toward a degree.

Farmingdale State College graduates are among the top earners in the group of all SUNY alumni both five and 10 years after graduation, according to the SUNY gradwages dashboard.

Farmingdale graduates rank fourth among SUNY’s 64 campuses, following only SUNY Maritime, SUNY Downstate Medical, and Binghamton University. Farmingdale was the highest rated on Long Island.

President Nader says: “It is wonderful to receive validation that FSC graduates go on to financially rewarding careers. Our focus on applied learning and forging industry partnerships is proving to be a worthwhile investment.”

SUNY gradwages combines academic data from SUNY with wage data from the New York State Department of Labor Unemployment Insurance System, to show median wages in specific degree programs. The dashboard shows wages one, two, three, five, and 10 years post-graduation, and allows students to research by field of study and campus.

Examples of FSC projected wages by degree program, fifth and 10th year, include:

  • Construction Management Engineering Technology – $89,783 (5th year) $117,532 (10th year)
  • Mechanical Engineering Technology – $77,070 (5th year) $90,241 (10th year)
  • Professional Pilot – $65,404 (5th year) $93,615 (10th year)

Farmingdale’s most recent survey of alumni – 2018 -19 – reveals that 90% of baccalaureate degree recipients are employed either full- or part-time within six months of graduation. Of that group, 81% are working in a job related to their degree.
