FSC’s Nexus Center has received a SUNY grant that will be used for experiential education workshops, open to faculty and staff. The workshops are part of the Experiential Education Academy curriculum for experiential education certification, offered by the National Society for Experiential Education.

The $23,400 SUNY Applied Learning Community of Practice Professional Development Grant is the result of a joint professional-development proposal submitted by Nexus Center, Stony Brook University, and SUNY Old Westbury.

“President Nader’s strategic plan for the college leads with the goal of being recognized as a center of excellence in teaching and applied learning,” says Rena Varghese, Nexus Center executive director. “It is fantastic to receive recognition from SUNY that acknowledges and supports our efforts in achieving this goal.”

Three sessions will be hosted by Nexus Center this semester.
