FSC alum Joseph Trifiletti ’07 has been named President of Vanderbilt Financial Group, an investment firm located in Woodbury, LI.

Trifiletti holds a BS in Management Technology (what is now called Business Management). Through an internship at FSC during his senior year, he joined Vanderbilt in 2006.

“Walking into it, I had no idea that this opportunity would take me on an amazing journey of growth that I continue on to this day,” Trifiletti says.

He began as an Operations Specialist, and climbed the corporate ladder to Chief Operating Officer, where he served for seven years. As leader of the firm’s recruitment efforts since 2015, Trifiletti has driven dramatic growth of Vanderbilt Financial Group, signing more than 100 financial advisors and increasing the firm’s assets under management by 150%. He manages strategic growth, mentors the leadership team, and supervises daily operations alongside the CEO.

“Farmingdale State College helped to lay that foundational knowledge of business that I use and test on a daily basis,” says Trifiletti. “And if I didn’t have that education, I wouldn’t be able to add the value I do to Vanderbilt.”

He adds that his parents were entrepreneurial, spurring his decision to attend FSC’s School of Business.

“I wanted to get a business degree from a great school,” Trifiletti says. “The coursework at FSC set up the base of knowledge that I use daily.”

The owners of Vanderbilt Financial Group, Heidi and Steve Distante, are glad Trifiletti made the decision to attend FSC.

“We’re thrilled to recognize and acknowledge Joe Trifiletti’s 14 years of hard work and dedication to Vanderbilt Financial Group. He has built an impressive track record of strategic and operational accomplishments, and we cannot be more pleased to name him President.”
