“Memories Into Memoirs” Workshop by FSC English Professor

Dr. Laurie Rozakis, professor of English/Humanities and author of more than 100 books, will lead an eight-week workshop entitled “Memories Into Memoirs,” at the Syosset-Woodbury Community Center. The writing series meets 10 – 11 a.m. on Mondays, 9/23, 9/30, 10/7, 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/18, 12/2, 12/9, and 12/16.

Participants will share their stories, and over the course of the workshop will have written at least eight essays. Dr. Rozakis will teach her students how to assemble their writing into a manuscript.

A New York Times profile described Dr. Rozakis as “an incredible researcher, an amazing writer,” and an Amazon.com reviewer praised her “uplifting and empowering attitude.” She was honored by SUNY with its Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. Learn more about Dr. Rozakis at her website.
