Lights Out for 60 Minutes Every Friday

FSC is joining the international community Friday, 6/21, for Daylight Hour, an event where office lights will be turned off for an hour, beginning at noon. Then every Friday throughout the year, the campus community is asked to do the same thing, to help support FSC’s and SUNY’s commitments to sustainability.

Daylight Hour is happening to raise awareness of the power of daylight, which can light up an office and save energy. SUNY Chancellor Kristina M. Johnson spoke about SUNY’s commitment to sustainability during her commencement remarks last month. FSC’s sustainable efforts go back decades, from the solar carport, to the Smart Energy House, to wind turbines, and bioswales.
