Peer Review Week Webinar

Thursday, September 13, 2018 12:00pm - 1:00pm Greenley Library, Room 125 (Conference Room)
Past Event

Greenley Library is hosting a Peer Review Week webinar, titled “Peer Reviewing with Confidence with the Publons Academy.”

Academic journal editors say that getting reviewers to accept review invitations is the hardest part of their job. Ironically, there is an abundance of researchers who have the motivation to break into the world of peer review, but aren’t given the opportunity. This webinar, launched during Peer Review Week and aligned with its theme, “Diversity and Inclusion in Peer Review,” is intended to help bridge the gap between reviewers and editors.

Content from the first four modules of the Publons Academy will be covered. This includes an overview of the peer review process in academic publishing, an understanding of what editors look for in reviewers, how to break into the world of peer review, the structure of a peer review report, and managing bias and conflicts of interest.
