School of Engineering Technology Welcomes New Dean

Dr. Barbara Christe

Dr. Barbara L. Christe has been named dean of the School of Engineering Technology at FSC. She joins an elite group of women deans in the field, who account for just 17% of deans in engineering.

Dr. Christe was most recently at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, where she was associate professor and healthcare engineering program chair. Her scholarly research includes published work in the Journal of Engineering Technology, Biomedical Instrumentation and Technology, and the Journal of Clinical Engineering.

Dr. Christe holds degrees in biomedical engineering from Rensselaer at Hartford (CT) and Marquette University, and a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Phoenix.

She begins at FSC in late August.
