The Infrastructure, Transportation and Security Center at FSC has won a $100K grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, and joined University Transportation Centers, based at Rutgers University. The grant is good for an additional three years, with amounts to be determined annually.

Within the University Transportation Centers, FSC joins SUNY’s University of Buffalo; Princeton, Columbia and Cornell universities; and four other academic institutions. The UTC Program advances state-of-the-art in transportation research and technology, and develops the next generation of transportation professionals. This Congressionally-mandated program has been in place since 1987 to help address the country’s ever-growing need for the safe, efficient and environmentally sound movement of people and goods.

The mission of FSC’s Infrastructure, Transportation and Security Center is to promote the safe, secure, resilient and sustainable infrastructure of the nation’s transportation system.
