Employers Want YOU! Meet Them at the Spring Job Fair Today

Recruiting representatives from E.W. Howell, GEICO, Michael Kors, MTA-Long Island Railroad, and Endeavor Air will be there, along with recruiters from more than 50 other companies and organizations. The question is: will you be there?

Well, if you’re a student or alumnus looking for a full-time or part-time job, or internship opportunity, then the Spring Job Fair is the place to be. It’s taking place Tuesday, 3/27, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., in the Campus Center Ballroom. You’ll get to network one-on-one with recruiters, and if past experience means anything, you may even be hired on the spot.We are Hiring Poster.

“The Spring Job Fair offers a tremendous opportunity for students across multiple disciplines to connect with various industry recruiters right here on campus,” said Rena Varghese, executive director of  the Nexus Center for Applied Learning and Career Development, sponsor of the event.

Cheryl Stratigos, Nexus Center career counselor, said that for those planning to attend the Job Fair, preparation is the key.

“We encourage students and alumni to make an appointment to have their resume reviewed, and learn how to make a strong impression when meeting recruiters. It’s nice to see that students are taking advantage of our services and presenting themselves as professional, prepared job seekers.”

And when all is said and done, says Dolores Ciaccio, director of career development, recruiters go home just as happy as the student job-seekers.

“Follow-up surveys from employers indicate that Farmingdale Job Fairs are very popular with them, as they seek to fill their employment needs with Farmingdale’s qualified, motivated and talented students and alumni.”

Joe Egan ’70, of Egan Consulting Co., Inc. and president of FSC’s Alumni Association, is one employer who has been pleased with his experiences at previous Job Fairs. “We had very promising results from the Technology Job Fair. So much so that we will be hosting a second interview process for 25 students who appear qualified to meet the requirements of our job description. I felt like we were the ones being interviewed.”
