Earth Day Fair Thursday, 4/19

Accompanied by Ram Nation Radio’s earth-friendly tunes, more than a dozen displays from the campus and non-profit organizations will have information, giveaways, snacks and useful tips to help you become an even more earth-friendly person. All are welcome Thursday, 4/19, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Campus Center lobby.

Gather information on how you can easily cut down on your environmental footprint.  Take the Green Pledge online and enter your name into a raffle.

  • Bring your batteries to the recycling bin arranged by FSC’s Environmental Health & Safety Office.
  • NEW – bring your old running shoes for recycling or refurbishing by Runner’s Edge, in Farmingdale.
  • Learn how to ride-share to save money, clean the air, and reduce traffic congestion, from 511NY Rideshare, Transit Solutions, and Clean Air NY.
  • Check out Aramark’s free earth-friendly snacks.
  • Find out how FSC saves energy from recycling to renewable energy, and learn more about new recycling plans for the fall.
  • Find out how adjusting your diet and not smoking help you and the earth.
  • Learn about the RESC’s (Renewable Energy and Sustainability Center) solar, geothermal and wind research and training.
  • Learn about the Tobacco Use Policy which goes into effect Fall 2018.
  • Horticulture will teach you how to turn table scraps into brown gold for your garden through composting. Learn which plants need the least amount of water and fertilizer to thrive on Long Island.
  • Learn how to use less water from the LI Water Conference and H2M.
