Professors Thomas Germano (Visual Communications) and Dr. Beverly Kahn (Political Science) have just published a paper titled “Exploring Italy: A Powerful International Applied Learning Experience Offered by Farmingdale State College” in SUNY’s newsletter of applied learning.

The article was written about a 10-day spring break trip with 25 students to Rome, Florence and Siena, where, according to the article, “the idea was to blend Machiavelli and Michelangelo, Garibaldi and Giotto, Cavour and Caravaggio, the Borgias and Botticelli, the Medici and Masaccio.”

The trip was related to two courses the students are taking: Renaissance Art History and Italian Politics and Society.
