Business plan presentations and a trade show will be happening simultaneously. At the School of Business, students from across Long Island will showcase their business presentations to industry professionals.

At the trade show in Roosevelt Hall, student entrepreneurs will demonstrate their products and services.

Angelika Swantek, a graduate of the urban horticulture and design program, has been named a Consulting Rosarian by the American Rose Society, for her expertise in roses.

Her award says: “This designation is made in recognition of a knowledge of roses and rose culture and a willingness to enthusiastically foster the aims an purpose of the Society by sharing that
knowledge with others whenever possible.”

grant award

FSC has received nearly $975,000 in grants from SUNY’s Performance Improvement Fund.

The funding will be applied to six projects, ranging from the new Nexus Center to Medical Laboratory Technology.

“This funding will help Farmingdale advance our work in the area of applied learning, expand our capacity for program delivery, meet programmatic challenges, and develop academic programs in areas
designated as high needs,” said Dr. Laura Joseph,
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Before I Die wall

The LIEOC at FSC has created an inspirational event for the campus community that will involve FSC in a global art project in which students, faculty and staff can write their life goals and dreams on chalkboard “walls.”

The installation will be at Hooper Hall, Tuesday, 12/12 through Friday, 12/15.

The project – “Before I die I want to…” – originated in New Orleans, where artist Candy Chang turned an abandoned house into a giant chalkboard,
