President Nader Beams with Pride about FSC at LIMBA Meeting

“Powered by Optimism” was the theme last week when President Nader addressed dozens of L.I. business people at a meeting of LIMBA (Long Island Metro Business Action).

At the meeting, Dr. Nader expounded on the positive changes, achievements, and initiatives taking place at FSC.  They included:

  • The College’s outstanding track record of placing graduates into jobs, particularly jobs in their fields and in the Long Island metro area.
  • The fact that Farmingdale has the second-highest undergraduate enrollment of any L.I. four-year college, second only to Stony Brook University.
  • The diversity at FSC, with 36% of the student body comprised of minority and international students.
  • FSC’s annual STEM conference, which seeks to encourage middle- and high school students to study in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
  • The two new degree program debuting this fall – the MS in Technology Management and the BT in Interaction Design.
  • Plans for an Applied Social Sciences building.
  • The development of new bachelor’s programs in Sustainable Energy Technology; Computer Security Technology; Geographic Information Systems; Criminal Justice, Police, Court, and Corrections; and Nutrition Science.

(L-R) Ken Nevor, LIMBA member; Bill Miller, Treasurer; President Nader; Steven Ferentinos, FSC student; and Ernie Fazio, Chairman.
