Gregory O’Connor has been named Vice President for Administration and Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Farmingdale State College. He comes on board June 19 with many years’ experience in SUNY, having served in four different positions with the SUNY Research Foundation and, most recently, as Director of New Ventures.

O’Connor has had an affiliation with FSC for some time, as Board Director of the Broad Hollow Bioscience Park. In his new role he will oversee the College’s Finance area and key functions including Physical Plant Operations, Capital Planning, Human Resources, Information Technology, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Legal Affairs, and Environmental Health and Safety. He is responsible for the business and fiscal affairs of all non-state campus organizations such as the Auxiliary Services Corporation, Children’s Center, and Small Business Development Center. He will also serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet.

While at the SUNY Research Foundation, Greg was the principal contact for SUNY campuses seeking strategic direction and support for industry partnerships, real estate development, business incubation, and collaborative research partnerships. He also supported other SUNY services, such as corporate finance, accounting, audit, Human Resources/payroll, construction management, procurement, and vendor selection. In addition, he negotiated and executed strategic technology license agreements with commercialization partners for SUNY-developed intellectual properties.

A two-time SUNY graduate, O’Connor earned his BA at Binghamton University and MBA at the University of Albany.
