Support Veterans Marathon Run

Suffolk County Marathon on October 30, Patchogue

All are invited to run in the Catholic Health Services’ second annual Suffolk County Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5k to support our veterans.

The race will start and end in  Patchogue Village, running through state parks and several communities along Suffolk County’s beautiful South Shore, including downtown Sayville, Bayport, Blue Point, and Oakdale.

More than 3,500 people from 25 states and four countries participated in the inaugural Suffolk race last year, where approximately $160,000 was raised for veterans’ services. Once again, all net proceeds from the event will go toward the creation and enhancement of veterans’ support services and programs right here in Suffolk County.

The race will be followed by the Taste of Long Island: FreedomFest street fair, which will take place in the heart of downtown Patchogue and will feature live music, food, and award-winning wines and craft brews proudly produced right here on Long Island.

While the official beneficiaries of this event will once again be our veterans, we encourage our participants to run in support of the causes or charities that mean the most to them. This year, INAS and Athletes Without Limits have designated our half marathon as their international and national championships, respectively, for the intellectually disabled. Further, a number of organizations are running as sponsored teams to raise money or awareness for their own unique causes. If you sign up online, you can create a free team or personal fundraising page right on our site.

For more information or to register today, visit suffolkmarathon.com.
(Please note, registration fees are set to increase after June 30, 2016.)
