Ten professors and staff members have been honored by SUNY with its Chancellor’s Award for Excellence. The Chancellor’s Award is conferred to acknowledge and provide recognition for consistently superior professional achievement and to encourage the ongoing pursuit of excellence.

Almost 140 staff and faculty have received the Chancellor’s award for Excellence since the first FSC awards were made in 1973.

“Ballin’ to Protect Young Hearts”:  The DomHeart 21 Classic, is a basketball tournament – but more than that it’s a tournament with a purpose.  And it’s coming to Nold Hall this Saturday, June 4, beginning at 10 a.m. and running through the afternoon.

Named after Dominic A. Murray, a former FSC student who died of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) during a pick-up basketball game here in 2009, the annual tourney features ballplayers 15 and under who will compete for an automated external defibrillator (AED) for their school.

The Bethpage Air Show takes place 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on May 28-29 at Jones Beach State Park, Wantagh; $10 vehicle use fee.

The Farmingdale State College flying Rams will open the Jones Beach airshow for their fourth year in a row on Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. They are scheduled to fly at 9:50 a.m. on both days. The performing pilots are all graduates of the Farmingdale State College Professional Pilot program and currently work as certified flight instructors (CFIs) at the Aviation Center.

Twenty five  students in the School of Engineering Technology received Certificates of Appreciation from the Town of Brookhaven last week.

What did they do to deserve such an honor?
