Foundation Awards for Excellence

Message from President W. Hubert Keen

I am pleased to invite you to nominate candidates for the Farmingdale Foundation “Excellence Awards.” The Farmingdale Foundation is once again funding Excellence Awards to faculty and professional staff, both full-time and part-time.
• Full-time and Part-time Term Faculty will be recognized for Excellence in Classroom Teaching and in Service to External Organizations
• Full-time and Part-time Term Professional Staff will be recognized for Excellence in Professional Service to Farmingdale State College and in Service to External Organizations

There will be one award of $1,000 conferred upon a member of the full-time teaching faculty. Likewise, the Foundation will bestow an award of $1,000 to a member of the full-time non-teaching professional staff. In addition, the Foundation is funding two awards for term adjunct faculty in the amount of $250 each, as well as two awards for part-time term professional staff in the amount of $250 each. Faculty and staff who have previously received a Farmingdale Foundation Excellence Award are not eligible for a second nomination.

All awards will be presented at the Farmingdale Foundation’s dinner meeting in June. Eligibility and selection criteria for the awards can be found on the College’s Intranet under Administrative Documentation, Awards, Farmingdale Foundation Awards.

Administrative Documents

In accordance with the Foundation’s by-laws, an Advisory Council has been established to oversee the selection process. I have requested that this Council select and recommend candidates to receive these celebrated awards. The Advisory Council for the awards is comprised of the four academic deans, one assistant dean, two acting assistant deans, one acting associate dean, and is chaired by the Acting Provost.

Anyone who wishes to nominate a candidate(s) for the awards should prepare a nomination letter, not to exceed two pages, and submit it/them to their respective Dean or Vice President by March 31. The Deans and Vice Presidents are asked to forward nominations from their units to the Provost’s Office by April 8 for consideration by the Advisory Council.

Thank you.

W. Hubert Keen
