Douglas Basford’s poetry, translations, and critical prose can be found in Poetry, Western Humanities Review, Subtropics, American Poetry Review, Tampa Review, The FSG book of Twentieth Century Italian Poetry, Ambit, The Hopkins Review and many more. He has received awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Summer Literary Seminars, the Bread Loaf and Sewanee writers’ conferences, and the Santa Fe Art Institute among others. He teaches writing and runs the Composition Program at the Univesity at Buffalo (SUNY), co-edits the online poetry journal Unsplendid, is the Italian language editor for Coeur Publishing and is reviews/prose editor of The National Poetry Review.
