The expanded Fall 2015 Convocation consisted of an abbreviated presentation by President Keen, including a welcome to the more than 75 new faculty and staff, announcement of 19 promotions and recognition of our 10 College Foundation and Chancellor’s Award recipients.

College Council Chair Patricia Hill Williams, who will chair the Presidential Search Committee, described the committee’s composition and announced that it will be in place for the September 16 meeting with Chancellor Zimpher.

Dr. Hill Williams emphasized the need for confidentiality within the committee and pointed out that a dedicated section of the FSC website will keep the progress of the Presidential Search Committee as transparent as possible.

With leadership from FEC Chair Karen Gelles and Presiding Officer Dr. Lloyd Makarowitz, more than 100 faculty and staff participated in the working groups to address questions regarding important issues facing FSC and expectations for the next president.

As usual, there wasn’t a lot of time to address the questions, but the process of being heard was declared most valuable.

Summaries of these recommendations will be compiled and forwarded to the Presidential Search Committee and the Search Firm.
